In a YouTube video released Monday, Rep. Don Young (R-Alaska) endorsed Mazie Hirono, a current Democratic Representative from Hawaii, in her primary race for the U.S. Senate.

Young and Hirono, who both appear in the video, spoke about their ability to work across party lines.

Hirono cited an amendment to protect native Alaskan and Hawaiian education that both she and Young worked on, and how she had to battle the House Democratic leadership to accept it.

Young told Hawaiians that they should vote for Hirono “if they are looking for a United States senator who doesn’t just talk about bipartisanship, but actually knows how to work with both Republicans and Democrats to get things done.”
