Presidential hopeful Newt Gingrich is winding down his campaign Tuesday in preparation for his official announcement tomorrow.

In a video posted on his website, Gingrich thanked his supporters and said that he still intends to be a voice in the lead-up to Election Day. “We’re going to continue out their on the road,” Gingrich said. “Both Callista and I will be talking, campaigning, making speeches, doing everything we can to defeat Barack Obama.”

Gingrich’s remaining event is a press conference in Arlington, Virginia to announce the campaign’s suspension.

The former Speaker made a brief splash after pulling an upset victory against Romney in South Carolina. Although his star has faded in recent months, Gingrich contended up until failing to gain much traction in the Delaware primary that he would be in the race until the Republican convention in Tampa.
