Lawmakers will announce on Tuesday that they’ve reached an agreement to fund the government for six months past an Oct. 1 deadline for current funding.

The measure will keep the government funded at 2012 levels, a figure set to be released by the Congressional Budget Office after the August recess. Spending for 2012 was set at $1.043 trillion under the Budget Control Act of 2011 but funding is expected to exceed that figure by about $4 billion.

Though a deal is expected before Congress leaves for its August recess, a vote on any such legislation won’t happen until September.
