Romney Camp To Reveal VP Pick Through Smartphone App

The Romney campaign isn’t the first to use popular technology to unveil their VP announcement. In 2008, the Obama campaign named Biden as their nominee in a 3am text to supporters.

Mitt Romney’s campaign announced Tuesday that they will be unveiling the Republican candidate’s Vice Presidential pick via a smartphone app.

The app, entitled Mitt’s VP, promises users that they will know the announcement “before the press and about everyone else (except maybe Ann.)” It is available for iPhone and Android.

Those wishing to use the app are required to sign in via Facebook or the campaign’s in-site networking operation MyMitt. The log-in requirements could help the campaign sharpen their fundraising efforts by receiving access to users’ information.
