Poll: George Allen And Tim Kaine Tied in Virginia

Virginia Senatorial candidate George Allen ( R) and Tim Kaine (D) are running neck and neck, according to a new poll from Rasmussen Reports.

Both candidates hold 46 percent support among likely voters. 6 percent are undecided and 2 percent will be selecting a different candidate.

Allen previously served as the Commonwealth’s Governor from 1994 to 1998 and Senator from 2001until Democrats won both chambers in the 2006 midterm elections. Tim Kaine held the Governorship from 2006 through 2010.

The poll was conducted on August 7th among 500 of the state’s likely voters.
