Jasper County (Mo.) Republican Party Chairman John Putnam, who also serves as State Coordinator for the Tea Party Patriots, talks to former U.S. Rep and host of Istook Live! Ernest Istook (R-Okla.), about the clamor for GOP U.S. Senate nominee Todd Akin to drop out of the race after his controversial remarks regarding rape and abortion.
About arguments that Akin should withdraw, “That argument’s out there; I can’t put myself behind it because I’ve been joined with him at the hip since the start of this campaign and I’m sticking with him.”
“I see the tide turning pretty strongly” (in favor of Akin quitting the race). “Folks are giving up pretty fast and I can’t talk with enough of them to change all their minds.” (:25)
