Jasper County (Mo.) Republican Party Chairman John Putnam, who also serves as State Coordinator for the Tea Party Patriots, talks to former U.S. Rep and host of Istook Live! Ernest Istook (R-Okla.), about the clamor for GOP U.S. Senate nominee Todd Akin to drop out of the race after his controversial remarks regarding rape and abortion.

Putnam says that Romney only polled 25% among Missouri Republicans before the nomination was determined. “We feel like the party forced Romney on us; we’ve adapted and accepted him. And now with the conservatives getting Akin on the ballot, we felt like it was their turn to get behind him, and at the first chance they’ve kind of bailed on him.” (:18)
