A new Gallup poll says that President Barack Obama received a 3 point bounce in his race against Mitt Romney following the Democratic National Convention, thus giving Obama a six point lead over his Republican rival.
Obama currently captures 50 percent support among registered voters while Romney trails at 44 percent. Prior to the conventions Obama and Romney were running neck and neck at 47 to 46 percent.
According to Gallup, Romney’s support decreased by 1 percent following the Republican National Convention and 2 percent after the Democrats’ gathering.
The poll was conducted between September 7th and 8th, the days immediately after the Democratic National Convention’s final night. 1,869 registered voters were surveyed.
