Louisville, Ky. — In the lead up to Thursday evening’s Vice Presidential debate, the Obama campaign is attempting to paint Republican Vice Presidential candidate as a consistent liar.
In a newly released web video entitled “The 7 Habits of Highly Misleading People,” the campaign makes the case that Ryan failed to tell the truth on large and small matters. It includes his assertion that the health care reform law championed by the White House would cut $716 billion in Medicare funds as well as apparent discrepancies surrounding how long it takes him to run a marathon.
“Ryan isn’t afraid to skirt the truth,” Stephanie Cutter, Obama’s Deputy Campaign Manager, said in a memo sent out to reporters. “He’s repeatedly made claims that are quickly debunked by fact-checkers.”
Vice President Joe Biden and Paul Ryan are set to square off at 9pm EST. The debate represents a major test for Biden, who is essentially tasked with overturning the momentum Romney received following Obama’s widely panned performance in Denver last week.
