President Barack Obama has a significant lead over Republican candidate Mitt Romney in a new poll conducted by Fox News.
Obama comes in with 46 percent to Romney’s 39 percent among registered voters. 8 percent of respondents said they were not sure, 3 percent said they wanted another candidate and 4 percent said they would not vote.
Among Romney supporters, 43 percent of respondents said they would back the former Massachusetts Governor primarily because he is not Obama. 25 percent of Obama’s supporters said they were backing Obama because he is doing a good job as President while 13 percent said they agreed with his positions on the issues.
The poll was conducted May 13th through 15th among 913 registered voters.
